Project Learning Swap Meet Baltimore
Why Baltimore, Maryland?
I am a teacher in Baltimore and was looking for a cool way to gather people together to talk about project based learning (as it is commonly called in the States) when I saw my new friends, Bianca and Lee Hewes' tweet letting people know about #PLSM13. Of course I couldn't travel to Australia to attend their event in Sydney, so I asked if we could use their idea in Baltimore and here we are! The first ever #PLSM13Baltimore!
Who should come?
Public, independent, charter, and university/college educators should come! (If I left someone out and you want to learn more about PBL, please apply to come!) We want a great mix of people to be there. Diversity of the group will make for way cooler projects!
When and where is it?
Saturday, October 5th: 9:30 - 4:00 pm at Friends School of Baltimore
(Thank you, Friends School, for donating our space to meet!)
(Even though it is being held at Friends School, we really want educators from all types of schools, seriously we do. I don't think I can stress that enough, but I probably did.)
What will the day be like?
The day will be designed by us so it is hard for me to say exactly what it will look like. We will be getting to know each other, sharing ideas and resources, and hopefully planning a rough draft of a project or getting help with one we've already done and want to make better...those are just my thoughts though! Let's decide together.
Remember, this is totally DIY. Bring your own lunch and beverage! Our Pub Chat is totally optional afterwards.
